Rosalind Moore
Pilates instructor, movement educator, and lifelong student of the body.
Rosalind was certified in Pilates by the Kane School of Core Integration in 2012. She completed her FAMI certification (Functional Anatomy for Movement and Injury) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2015. Rosalind has deepened her understanding of movement and injury by studying with some of the field's most respected practitioners, including Madeline Black, Kuan Hui Chew, Christine Wright, Kelly Kane, Cara Reeser, Jane Clapp and Marimba Gold-Watts.
Rosalind has additional expertise working with clients who have spinal injuries and conditions (stenosis, scoliosis, disc injury, fusions, laminotomy/laminectomy), joint replacements, hypermobility, prenatal and postpartum clients, and breast cancer survivors.
Rosalind's relationship with Pilates began as a student in 2002, when she turned to the practice during her own rehabilitation for knee and hip injuries. That experience instilled a lasting commitment to understanding how the body moves, heals, and adapts. Following her certification, she went on to teach at Kinected and Mongoose Bodyworks in New York, and served as a teacher trainer at the Kane School.
In 2015, Rosalind launched an independent practice, collaborating with physical therapists and wellness professionals across New York City. From 2020 to 2023, she worked at IPA Manhattan Physical Therapy. In July 2023, she opened a fully equipped private studio in NoMad, creating a dedicated space for the individualized, clinically informed work she believes in.
Before teaching Pilates, Rosalind attended the University of Virginia, and Parsons, the New School for Design. She lives in Westchester with her family and their ridiculous dog.
A dedicated space for the work
Move Moore NYC is located in the historic Saint James building at 1133 Broadway in NoMad. The studio is equipped with Balanced Body and Stott equipment, and an ever-evolving array of props, weights, and fitness tools to supplement the Pilates choreography.
How the work unfolds
Sessions with Rosalind begin with a thorough assessment. Each client is considered not only within the context of their injuries and fitness habits, but also the demands of their daily lives and long-term goals.
Your body, your history
Before any session begins in earnest, Rosalind takes the time to understand how you move, where you hold tension, and what your body has been through. This shapes everything that follows.
Pilates & beyond
The work draws on classical Pilates choreography alongside strength training, dance technique, and somatic practices, woven together based on what each client needs most.
Understanding your anatomy
Clients leave sessions with a clearer picture of their own bodies, learning how joints, muscles, and connective tissue work together so they can move well beyond the studio walls.
Sustainable, functional health
Rosalind's goal is not to create dependency on a trainer, but to build the confidence, capacity, and movement skills that serve clients for life.
